In the Washington Post, preaching his own self-righteousness and acting like some civil rights champion. I don't have a side in this, as I don't live in New Orleans, but acting like some great leader because of this seems funny.

I'd like to write an op-ed piece saying, "GFY, Mitch. The end."

he wouldn't even win a state election, let alone be a viable candidate for the presidency. I seriously see no political future for him after his tenure as mayor is over.

I wish Mitch spent as much time fixing our roads as he spends writing Op-Eds for the Washington Post.

Odd that he doesn't make his pleas in the local paper.

But New Orleans was also America’s largest slave market: a port where hundreds of thousands of souls were brought, sold and shipped up the Mississippi River to lives of misery and torture. Our history is forever intertwined with that of our great nation — including its most terrible sins. We must always remember our history and learn from it. But that doesn’t mean we must valorize the ugliest chapters

Not even going to read it. His only play is to try and lock up a fundraising position with urban mayors league or some bs and hope someone remembers him when the dems win the white house again. He has zero chance of being elected in Louisiana again and his one accomplishment in office will be something which actually accomplishes nothing. This while leaving a pile full of issues he never fixed or attempted to fix.

What an absolute embarrassment for the city and state. Mitch makes it sound like the locals were out with pitchforks and torches while he bravely stood against intolerance.

All I'm saying is you shouldn't rule anything out. Every step of Trump's rise to power was met with "well he's not going to win_____".

He's set race relations back 30years and hasn't done shite to fix a single one of the cities real problems. He is a complete and utter failure and has made C Ray look like a competent steward of the city.

No, they REFUSED to elect Hillary.
THAT is what happened.

That was certainly a part of it.
