14-year olds can circumnavigate the globe (that means "go all the way around the whole world" for some of you...), but a couple of 14-year old boys can't go fishing? Accidents happen. They grew up on the water. It's not like it was their first time on a boat.

Fair enough. I'm hyperbolic and assuming and probably woefully misinformed.

Will you ever forgive me?

Well,
which is it...

There's no hope if you can't figure out what 70 miles off the coast at that point means.

Idk the whole story. It just seems preventable.

every kid is different. It's up to parents to gague responsibility and delegate privilege.

lots of houses near the coast in Florida have boat slips in their back yard so it never comes out the water except on a lift

Well, only one way to settle this.

We meet at dawn. Swords or pistols?

They were not in the Gulf. They were South of Daytona Beach. It's a mild inlet but I'm not aware of the conditions at the time they went out. We've been experiencing some pretty good storms here and I wouldn't have gone out last week.

Hopefully the find them safe.

In FL, there is no minimum age to operate a boat. There is to operate a PWC though. I'd expect there will be a law now.

Well, maybe there is some hope for you to learn how to communicate clearly when writing sentences in English.
Perhaps you meant to type "70 miles west of Ponce Inlet"?
Have a great day!

That would be stupid since their boat was found to the east.

Or might not, plus one dead adult. Happens all the time.

The report said the boat was damaged, there might not have been anything an adult could have done better.

This has been on our local news because they left from Jupiter inlet. That 19 footer is way far from where they left from. Sucks for the families. Terrible news.

Apparently these boys were just supposed to go out thru Jupiter inlet to go fishing in the Atlantic a few miles out which is not really dangerous at all in good weather. But they were actually going to go 90 miles due east across to the Bahamas without their parents permission. At some point they hit weather and capsized and the boat drifted up the Gulf Stream and was found today. Just awful news

The parents said they didn't have supplies for a trip to the Bahamas and they were confident that the Bahamas wasn't the plan.
