Canard, if your response was ment for me I've been outta that inlet headed to the Bahamas in a boat 1ft bigger in 8-10ft seas. When I looked at my watch after a hour and I could still see land, I knew it was gonna be a long day. It took us 10hrs to get to west end and follow the coast to xzanadu. But, at the other side of the week it took us 1hr 45 mins to go back across!!

It's a tremendous long shot but if the kids are somehow found and rescued off of a buoy picture sighting it would be absolutely unreal. Without sounding inconsiderate it would almost be equally as amazing if they are able to retrieve bodies in the area as they have to be getting close to hypothermia/dehydration limits.

Man I'm not crucifying you at all. Makes a lot of sense. Epirbs and spots are pretty accurate now. The one I use in the mountains is accurate to about 30 feet. It' relays to satellites. People who don't have them in boats today are crazy. All that being said it is sad. These kids made a series of mistakes. No question. I do t see anything wrong with your post. No reason to say anything negative about it
No problem, I've just kept silent while watching people think they've got it all figured out and it's infuriating. Imagine the hell social media is putting those parents through right now. The scrutiny is ridiculous without knowing more and they don't need their lives' ruined further by ridiculous speculation of so many arm chair quarterbacks. It is quite possible the only thing they are guilty of is having a boat that was easily accessed by their kids...

I don't see anything that would make me think it was a human.

What am I looking at? I don't see anything but water

Yeah, she just broke that pattern and jumped east.

The Coast Guard is continuing to search for an overdue paddle boarder between Daytona, Florida, to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Missing is William Morlock, 58.
Crews aboard an HC-130 Hercules airplane, the Coast Guard Cutter Maria Bray, and the Cutter Diamondback are searching for Morlock. A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules airplane is scheduled to search throughout the night.

What's east of there? and I'm sure this has been discussed but can they even search at night efficiently?

I think the misconception is that everyone seemed to think they could just swim up to the bouy and hop on.
The winds were 23 knots gusting to 26 in 8-9 foot seas. They have to be weak now by being adrift so long. Buoys are full of barnacles and usually marine life, and it is not easy to get on them in 3 to 4 foot seas. (Don't ask) if currents were strong they may not have been able to get on it.
