A Minnesota mother of two who missed a relative’s wedding because she and her husband could not find child care says she was “shocked” when she opened the mailbox this week and found a $75 bill from the bride and groom.

The total bill, a precise $75.90, came to the cost of two $30 “Herb Crusted Walleye” entrees plus a “Service & Tax Charge.”

“I just was shocked,” Jessica Baker said of receiving the bill, which included a note that, “This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVPed for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated.”

Baker, 33, of Andover, Minnesota, was planning to attend the Aug. 29 nuptials of a relative on her husband’s side of the family when Baker's mother, the couple's planned babysitter for their 2-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son, called in sick.

It is pretty shitty to RSVP and not show up.

But this doesn't work either.

Trashy.

Also equally trashy by posting it on social media for attention whoring purposes.

Yankee sit down meal weddings are the fricking worst. Have some walk around apps, a food table, a bar, good music and get to partying. frick this bride.

I would photoshop the husband freaking a hooker and send it. Tell them you didn't want to ruin it but this forced you to.

All they had to do was text their closest relative, the bride's brother, about their sudden change of plans. They totally flaked on something they RSVP'd for and then posted the bride's overreaction on a local news channel's facebook page to soak up the attention as victims.

You usually pay for the head count a long time in advance so the bride and groom we're screwed either way. It's ridiculous to send a fricking bill for this shite.

That exactly what it would have been a bill and that bill would have gone unpaid also.

How do you not go to your sisters wedding? Bring the fricking kids. Who cares. At least just show up for the wake. I mean reception.

Both sides behaved poorly, and I think that's why this is a fun story. The excuses from the couple billed annoyed me because they seemed crafted after this became a "big" story, of their own doing. There's also no line in the article like, "When reached for comment, the bride affirms that she fully intends to be paid."
