When will the older generations recognize their new generational overlord?

In fact, by around 2030, the millennial majority will likely have done away with the 9-to-5 workday entirely. Here are four key reasons why millennials will insist that flex-work hours happen sooner rather than later.

By 2030, professionals will work mostly from home using super-fast data terminals. Most companies will have nixed their permanent physical office locations in favor of chains of interconnected hubs with different plans for individuals to access space. Meetings will routinely occur virtually and across geographies and time zones, rendering air travel to visit clients or partners unnecessary. And if the office isn’t necessary — why are set office hours?

it won't happen. The workplace was created to avoid home distraction. That will not change.

If we can switch to 4 10s I'm all for it

....and besides, have these frickers don't work anyway.

Sounds like a great idea. Somebody has to keep the old fricks SS checks flowing.

Yeah keep dreaming kid. We run this shite and we say you gotta wake up and go to work. And catch a goddamn razor in the morning, fricking slacker.

Millenials won't even be working in 15 years.
After free loading off their parents until they've passed away, they'll all be on government assistance.

I'd probably blow my brains out if I worked at home. I need to get away from the house.

Business owners would love it.
Must be great paying rent for a building that is filled with workers playing on the internet 90% of the day.

Maybe, however doing business this way will cut down on a lot of cost.
4 day work weeks are what we really need! I work in a school district that had 4 day weeks. Students worked harder, everyone was happier, costs went down, and test scores were up.

So everyone is on the same page.
If you have a salesman trying to meet clients its tough if everyone has wacky schedules.

They'll be too busy pissing and moaning about how their sexuality isn't properly classified to actually do any work.

I didn't realize Bruce Jenner was a millennial....

The 8 - 5 business model is antiquated and inefficient.

I actually dont like being at work and getting paid for sitting around. I'll ask to leave if I am done for the day. Some bosses are okay with it, and it pisses others off. I make it obvious that I'm not doing anything for the latter. You can catch me sleeping, playing around on my phone, tetris on the computer, etc.

Nope
I am in an industry that already relies extraordinarily heavily on virtual meetings, working from home, flex hours, talent management technology, etc., etc. (management consulting). MC firms tends to be way ahead of the curve on workplace trends as it is.
We are already moving back towards more office hours and face-time with clients after a decade or more of trending in the other direction. Teams just aren't as productive virtually no matter what kind of technology you have.
There is a balance to be struck, but it won't be some workplace utopia.
