About to contact a LTC (Army) for work. In the Army, in conversation, would I refer to him as Col Chicken, or Lt Col Chicken?

In unofficial talk you just use Colonel.

In the 3rd person, either.

Face to face, COL.

This is just going to feed his ego. Say and emphasize the Lieutenant part every time you say his name, it will remind him to stay humble.

Superiors call me my first name, LT, or Mr (my last name).

Peers, my first name.

Juniors, LT, L-T, or Sir.

I always say L-T to my 0-3...he is my XO...so I call him that sometimes too...all the Ensigns and JG's I call Mr.(Last Name) or Sir...My CO is a LCDR...I call him Sir or Commander(Last Name)

In A-gang we always got the most junior officer as our Div-O and of course we treated him like shite. It was always "I can't wait til another guy gets here so I can get away from you assholes". Then he'd get replaced and go back aft with the nukes... and it was "I miss you guys".
