The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a double shooting in Metairie that left a 56-year-old father and his 25-year-old son dead.

quote:

Shortly before midnight, Elizabeth Pence, 55, who is David's wife and Nicholas's mother, called 9-1-1 to report a shooting at the house in the 3700 block of Clifford Drive, Fortunato said. She said she was in her bedroom and described hearing sounds of glass breaking and gunshots, he said.

Deputies found Nicholas Pence on the living room floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Fortunato said. David Pence was sitting in a lounge chair, also suffering from gunshot wounds.

quote:

Fortunato called the shooting an "isolated incident," and said there were no signs of forced entry into the house. He said it was "too soon" to determine whether anything had been stolen from the home.

Geez. The comments at the link.

People labelling the family "white crackheads" and saying it was a drug deal gone bad. What idiots.

I am going to go with son shot dad and then sat in lounge chair and off'ed himself if we are going to speculate with zero facts.

were the weapons suppressed, because I haven't heard any reports of hearing the gunfire.
I heard a shooting a quarter mile away a few months back and it was loud.

Also no forced entry doesn't mean much. Not everyone locks their doors when they are awake and about.

I read this earlier and for some reason assumed the dad killed the son and then himself. A bit scarier to know this may have been a double homicide in a good part of Metairie.

Found the son on FB, looks like a nice kid (not that that means much).

That's why I don't live in Metairie. It's just not safe.

Know friends of the son. They are all in shock. People saying this is a bad neighborhood obviously don't know it.

Had to be. Either that or the mom is lying.

She claims to have been in the bedroom and heard a noise that sounded like glass breaking.

I'm sorry, but that had to be a big arse house or she was out cold not to hear several gunshots in here own damn place.

I would wholeheartedly agree, the houses in that area are all $250k+.

You're not missing anything lnchbox

When an incident like this happens and there are a few people that know some real facts about what happened, the idiots of the OT show their colors. They lack common sense and reading comprehension

so wait... they said there was no sign of forced entry but the lady heard glass breaking?

wouldn't it stand to reason that if you get in with no forced entry and shoot them both in their chairs, you get out the same way you got in?

also if you shoot them both in their chairs, you generally don't miss and hit anything that breaks glass like a window or something...

oh and check her life insurance policies and her recent bank transactions...

The OT certainly lacks reading comprehension.

This is 95% no way a random incident. I know friends of the kids as well. All very nice young kids. However the mom's comments were very sketchy. If it wasn't done by one of the members of the family then it must have been an open the door shoot em up then leave. If that was the case then someone did someone wrong. No signs of forced entry. Of course with the shitty reporting in this city we will never know for sure.

Just passed down W Esplanade. JPSO had several trucks parked along the canal bank and they were dragging the canal.
