Interviews several black local leaders about the role of fatherhood and the lack thereof in the black community. For one who teaches at an all black Delta school, this is the overwhelming reason why these kids are failing. I wished we had more leaders like this and people responding to it. Doesn't matter what color you are, the common denominator to good kids are two loving parents who are involved. Bottom line.

And you know perfectly well many kids from the projects come and make, but use basic statistics and there is a direct correlation between the two.

Black kids with the same past and same "accomplishments" you have listed.

Some people are good and some are bad. Having a father increases the chance that the kid turns out good.

See, there's your problem. An involved father would have told you that you needed only 1 college degree.

Exception not the rule.

Don't be naive.
Or bitter , whichever.

It's a symptom, but far from the root of the problem.

There's a cultural issue there that's regurgitating every generation. Playing the victim, and no aspirations outside of the hood.

Black people in this day and age are generally afforded more opportunities than whites.

the entire culture devalues fatherhood, with phrases like "baby daddy"

Of course they get plenty of help from feminazis, supporting wonderful lesbian "marriage" and helping them adopt children. Obviously children don't need a father.

That's true. But, this is where I as a 27 year old defer to some older folks. We're blavks not legitimately making forward strides in the 40-50s before LBJ launched these massive government programs? These programs have hurt the nuclear family and wiped the slate of responsibility clean. The percentage of married couples who have children is around 20% now. Now, we have families who are expecting assistance their while life. Like the last interviewer said in the promo, that is the goal. And that is not far from what I experienced in three years of teaching in Tunica, MS.

"coming out"?

The preview said the DVD would be available 4/1/2011.

April Fools' Day, as I recall.

The OP sits on a throne of lies.

Unfortunately this is true in many black communities. My wife is a social worker for the school system. She was telling me about evaluating a young black male and asked him what job/career he would like to do when he grew up. He said, "Nuttin." She asked if any of the men in his family had jobs or careers and he said, "Nah, dey just hang out and cut up."

I told her no fricking way. There's no way that no one in his whole extended family did not have a job. She insisted that they didn't. Said the mother and aunts all got welfare and none were married because it would cut their benefits. The men just leech off of them. Unfrickingbelievable.

I really didn't realize how rampant welfare fraud/abuse was until I started hearing stories from my wife about it. It's disgusting what we've allowed it to become.

Lol. Didn't see the date. I saw the post today. Doesn't take away from the words spoken though, in spite of when it came out.

Is there a lot of fraud? My guess is there is just a shite ton of abuse which is allowed by loopholes in the system. People don't marry so the mom can collect a check and the dude can work or just leech off the chick.

Fraud/abuse, same shite to me. Welfare should be a safety net, not a fricking cradle to grave hammock.

Unless someone is physically or mentally unable to work, they should not be on fricking lifelong welfare.

Here is a great report from the Heritage Foundation linking the poverty, race and social nets since their largest expansion in 1968.

When the War on Poverty began in 1964, only 7 percent of children were born to unmarried women. However, over the next four-and-a-half decades the share of non-marital births exploded. In 2013, 41 percent of all children born in the U.S. were born outside marriage.

Welfare is so 1990s. Disability is now where it's at.

And why do these government programs negatively affect the black community so much more than any other group?
