Medical Advice (pic page 2, kinda gross)

So I cut a piece off of my thumb last night and had to go the emergency room. It wasn't at a hospital just an independent place. Well, the strongest pain meds they can give me is tramadol 50mg which absolutely does nothing for my pain. Is it possible to go to a different emergency room or doctor and explain the situation to them so maybe I can get stronger pain meds?

Yeah, I've tried taking alieve, it's not working, I'm not a junkie, I literally didn't sleep last night and the way it's hurting today I doubt I sleep tonight

Sure. You might come off like a drug seeker, but sure. Obviously they are gonna charge you for a whole new visit.
You may have better luck calling or going to that independent place and tell them that what they prescribed you isn't working and see if they'll give you a new rx without having to have a while new eval or encounter that they'll charge to for.

why not just go back to the same place and explain the situation 
I have never cut off a digit but I am in a lot of pain most mornings .... I take 10 Advil as soon as I wake up and another 10 with breakfast about 30 minutes later and that seems to really help the pain ...

I did call them and they said they can't prescribe any thing stronger than what they gave me

You can't take tylenol PM or something? It should help the pain at least enough to go to sleep. As it heals it will get better, I would not seek pain pills for that.

If they handled it at the urgent care, you are being a huge arse wimp. Or someone had told you that you missed a chance at some dope.

Yeah I can, but it's gonna work long enough....I have a picture that I can upload if anyone is interested in seeing it, it's pretty gross though

Tell them they are lying lol. But yeah pcp or another urgent care is your best bet. Some EDs will do it through heir fast track if it's open, but you'll pay the copay and get footed with a larger ed bill likely.

go visit an old persons home and read stories to them. Take a moment to rifle through their medicine cabinet and score some good stuff.
