JAISALMER: Left in the heat with its legs tied all day, a camel attacked its owner and severed his head in anger in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Saturday. About 25 villagers struggled for 6 hours to calm the animal down.

Urjaram of Mangta village was entertaining guests at his house on Saturday night when he suddenly realised that his camel had been out in the heat all day with its legs tied. He was attacked when he tried to untie the annoyed animal

Camels' natural mood is somewhere between annoyed and pissed, so this isn't surprising.

Those frickers are bigger than you think and one of the meanest animals you'll find.

I might be old by some standards, but I've still got a good 20, maybe 30 years before I'll be on a trike.

When I rode a camel I could see how anyone could ride that thing for more than fifteen minutes. I felt like I was going to fall off with each step it took forward.

No kidding. Mine had to make a small jump over a little foot wide stream. The 15 feet of notice felt like forever. I was convinced I was falling off.

Why are camels called the ships of the desert?

They are filled with Iranian seamen.
