MBA...without question. Opens up a lot of doors in different areas. Best move I ever made
Where did you go?

But sometimes things are too flexible, if that's a problem. Not a lot of structure which sometimes causes others (my peers and their subordinates) to jack around. It's frustrating and I'm finding myself becoming slowly dried out. I'm having to really focus on staying motivated and I think it's because I'm slowly becoming disinterested.
These sound like weak reasons to give up on a career. Have you worked with more than 1 company?

Is LSUS considered a Western Governers, Southern New Hampshire type of degree mill?
I don't know, either - but I believe that name recognition goes a long way. How much is the LSUS program?

Less than $17,000 total. I think closer to $15,000....not sure.

I have heard real good things about the PMP certification as well through the Project Management Institute...something else to look into if you decided to stay in construction. Maybe others here can weigh in on this more...

Do you get a bonus for enrolling people?
Stop peddling that garbage program.

That is cheap. Mississippi State, Memphis and Nebraska are all in the $20-25K range.
I could be off base - but I'd wager that the LSUS MBA has a better chance of getting a nose turned up at it than one of those three.

I currently work for a large construction company and most of the managers/upper level guys have their MBAs. They have all suggested that is the best thing to do if you want to keep moving up in any large company, not just construction.

Mainly LSU's executive program.

Let's all take a moment to to the engineers as they sit on their pedestals looking down upon us.

MBA --> PMP --> $$$$$$

Perhaps a nose turned up, but at some point your overall experience and resumé should hold some weight too. It's not all about where your MBA is from, right??

It's always been a joke with the CM majors I know. Had a couple friends drop out of ME and do it. Had one who would tell me how stupid I was for getting engineering when I could get a CM degree. Had to say it.

All depends on the company.
My company (not in construction or IT) doesn't value it, even if my MBA+PMP puts me at the top of the food chain among our project managers.
It does give me great security if a meteor hits this place, though. I could leave tomorrow and take a 25%ish raise - but I like where I work and get paid well enough.

It's mostly that no one here has any esprit de corps. It doesn't directly translate to any more or less work for me, but the disorganization is just wearing on me. That's all.
I've been here for about 5 years. I've been in construction before, but this is my first place of employment while serving in this capacity.

Great logic. I can tell that MBA has really come through for you.
I didn't say it would hurt him. I said that I have not found it very helpful. I also went to an SEC school. Big fricking shite.
