As a parent of a 23, 18 and 14 yo, I just can't imagine what that family is going through. As a poster before me said, parents should not be buying their children.
May she rest in peace and the family be consoled by their faith, family and friends.

My GF's daughter was classmates with her at LSU-E, they were both in the Radiologic Technology program.
Her classmates attended the funeral. I've heard that the program instructor is devastated.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I know they will find their way to Mayci's heart somehow.

Just so incredibly sad. The grief on her mother's face, I can feel in my heart. Been there, still doing that. It's a journey that never seems to end.

Having lost a child, I agree she is in a better place. I didn't start to come to terms with my son's death until I realized he could never be hurt again, and that is a better place to be.

Praying for her family and friends. What a tragic situation.

Heartbreaking. R.I.P. Mayci.

Such a senseless act.. It's beyond messed up. Not a normal way to go at all. It was just an innocent trip to the movies.

Sending my condolences. She is in a better place now.

The turn out in Franklin last night was astounding. The line to share condolences and view the body was over 2 hours long!
A huge police showing was also present. Members of the Franklin PD, the St. Mary S O as well as many La. State Police officers made sure nothing went wrong.
It was one of the saddest and heart wrenching things I've ever seen.
Rest in Peace

No parent should lay a child in the ground.
It's wholly unnatural. And for the most senseless reason. My heart breaks for them.

Tears in my eyes. My heart aches for her friends and family.

Sickens me. All for no reason. Hope the guy burns in hell.
