Of course the wall isn't a bad thing. Who said it was?

As a gamer you would know.

(The LA Times article quoted in the NPR article-)
"In Quintana Roo, the state where Cancun is located, 169 killings were reported from January to July, more than twice as many as during the same period last year."
For reference NOLA is at 111 today for 2017 YTD, 175 was 2016's total.

It's a political thread. The reason you don't want it there is because you hate the people on the political board.
YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE

I don't hate the thought of it, but I don't want to read two sides that will never agree gnash their teeth.

The cartels wouldn't have their power if the US decriminalized drugs.

See the down votes and you will know some don't want the supply stopped.
I just spent a week in Cozumel and felt safe, of course I wasnt in any area I shouldnt have been and I wasnt trying to do business with a cartel.
My buddy just spent a week driving his vehicle all over the Baja peninsula and said he felt safe the whole time.
I hate this will taint the area for the local Mexican people who are just trying to make a living. It sucks Mexico has such inept government that cant control this.
The cartel violence is typically cartel on cartel with random citizens rarely targeted, but this update by the state dept will have an impact on the resort areas.

For so many reasons, the wall is one of the stupidest ideas ever, But most ranters are hopelessly right wing Trump fellators so I can see how they would be suckered into such a ridiculous idea

Only a Trump voter would think the cartel was planning on schlepping through the desert to come to America and we must therefore build a wall to stop them.
If they wanted to come here they'd get on a plane like anyone else.

Do you even breaking bad season 3?
This ain't about the wall or the Mexicans or even about heritage, it's about the wall. If you don't see how stupid it is to let things play out the way they're gonna then you don't deserve to be American or Mexican or American!! Y'all are too blind to see and by the time you do, it will be almost too late!!!
