I'm in the planning/budgeting stage for a master bath remodel in Baton Rouge.

Anyone go through one with a contractor they'd recommend (or not recommend)?

Patrick Reynolds with Celtic Property has always done good work for me and the people I've referred to him.

Don't use the Wainwright brothers out of Central/Pride/Amite area for anything.

They really fricked up our bathroom.

I would recommend confirming that anyone you use is licensed with the respective board. Those guys rolled up to our house with licensing information on the side of their truck. Come to find out later, that license had been revoked 4 years ago and those guys were illegally operating. I've never met two guys more stupid in my entire life.

We've done a kitchen and bathroom with JBC Construction. Highly recommend!

Do it yourself it isn't hard. I just did both of mine.

Replaced floor, replaced counter tops(Paid for installation), painted walls, refinished cabinets and painted, changed all hardware and faucets, replaced light fixtures, added frame around mirror, removed and replaced tile.

I am doing the rest of the house. I've done a guest bath and will be redoing the other bathroom. My master bathroom, my kitchen, and my floors will be bigger jobs than I want to take on. Those would take me far too long.

I hear that. I renovated my kitchen as well. I got a quote for 25k just for Kitchen renovation I was like hell no. I did everything myself except counter tops which I paid a company to do all for under 10k

I honestly think I could do it. I just think it would take too long for me to get it done with little help. I'll have to bite the bullet a bit. I will do some of it myself.
