MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A man was injured after being dragged under a car.

Monroe Police say it happened around 6:30 Tuesday evening.

They say a driver was exiting the Murray Place Apartments when they heard a dragging sound under the car. They backed up to see what it was and still heard the dragging. That's when they discovered the man underneath the car.

The man had a large gash on his head and was airlifted to LSU Shreveport. Police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police are investigating what caused the accident. They say the man may have been laying on the ground when he was run over.

Yeah, that's usually what happens when a person is dragged under a car.
