ALLMADGE, Ohio – A Florida man chewed off the skin on all his fingertips during a traffic stop in an effort avoid being identified by fingerprints, Tallmadge police said Friday. Kirk Kelly, 24, now faces charges of falsification and tampering with evidence.

When Kelly overheard officers talking about using their handheld fingerprint identifier for a positive identification, he chewed off the skin on all of his fingertips to avoid a proper ID, Williams said.

Kelly also has several warrants out for his arrest in Florida, including ones for racketeering, drug trafficking and illegally selling handguns, Williams said.

Williams said handguns sold by Kelly have been linked to 15 Florida homicides.

He should have tried to chew off the tattoos that identified him, as well.

The cops were pissed. He left no prints.

If he were from Mississippi, he'd have tried to eat all of his own DNA.

He ate so much he was tipsy.

His fingers became disappointed.

This guy is stupid.

Fingerprints are very unreliable as identification.

Pretty genius, and ballsy too. No way should he be charged with a crime. I don't want to live in a society where a man isn't free to mutilate himself.
