AN Australian man has taken the advice ‘only pack the essentials’ to a new level after checking in his luggage at Melbourne airport on Saturday, which consisted of a single can of beer.

That's just for carry-ons.

Airline baggage handler will probably end up shotgunning it on the runway and claiming they don't know what happened to it.

It'll be hot when he lands but a hot beer is better than no beer imo.

Is the cargo hold pressurized? Might be empty when he lands.

It's only a 2-hour flight, and I guess they serve beer on the flight.

It seems to me the hold would almost have to be pressurized. The cabin's floor is big and flat. If the cabin above the floor was pressurized and the hold below the floor wasn't, the floor would have to be extremely heavy and bulky to withstand the pressure differential .

Story checks out. However, PuntBamaPunt is right...it is odd that a self-respecting Aussie was not at least hauling a case of beer.
