Making extra cash from doing online surveys

I work an office job and have quite a bit of down time throughout the day. I was thinking about doing these surveys instead of just wasting time on the Internet. Anyone have any experience with this? Whats the deal?

I tried mysurvey, it's not worth the effort.
Probably better to learn a new language or skill instead.

Did Valued Opinions for a while. Basically make less than minimum wage. Ends up about $6/hr. If you have nothing to do and play on the internet to waste time anyway, it is better than nothing. A couple of times, got some better surveys. Did a cologne trial at home that earned like $50. Then had a media/smartphone survey that made $100 for about 5 hours worth of time over a week.
