Did you watch Paradise lost? Because that is exactly how those three got convicted.
The fact that they only found Avery's DNA on the key was kind of crazy. I mean, this chick carried her key around for years yet her DNA was not on it?
The other thing that made me scratch my head is that the prosecutor argued that she was murdered in the trailer during the Avery trial and then turned around and argued that she was killed in the garage during the Dassey trial.
I've followed the WM3 case religiously since the kids were arrested in '93. So yes, I've seen them all. I've also researched and read about that case, as I've done with this one.
The "false" confession by a mentally challenged individual (and I'm not convinced it's false) is the only similarity between these two cases.
This guy Avery was a POS long before the murder, had a rap sheet indicating a hx of violence. Damien, Jason and Jesse were kids and had been in trouble- and I think it was Jason only - for kid stuff (shoplifting). No ritual devil-worship or any sort of anti-social bx demonstrated by any of them.
BUT
I'm not saying Avery is guilty or innocent.
I'm saying Netflix used a previously successful documentary as a basis for this shite show and it falls flat when you go beyond what they show you and do some independent research.
It is obvious from the style and content how heavily they followed Paradise Lost and went for the knee-jerk reaction they knew the sheeple would give them.
My point is, Making a Murderer is crap.
Period.

All I needed to know about that Avery dude is he jerked off on a moving car.
Lock him up.

Should give him a medal, not a prison sentence.

Avery is a POS. I hope they did frame him. He did it and if the evidence wasn't strong enough it's a good thing the cops did what needed to be done to put this POS away. Too many gullible idiots will watch a documentary with an agenda and take that as the gospel to the exclusion of other facts.

I still can't get over how the cop called in the plate #, like he was sitting behind it, 2 days before the car was "found" and had no explanation while on the stand.

I agree with Ryno's stupid arse for once. I watched that shite and it's very biased. Dude was/is a frickup pervert.

Cruelty to animals like what he did to the cat is a sheer sign of being a sociopath...plus the purchase of the leg irons and cuffs. No innocent person is buying that stuff....the phone calls too. You have to be blind to see he didn't do it.

he likely is, but that doesn't mean he killed that girl. the evidence doesn't point to it at least.
the key they found had ONLY his DNA on it. not halbach's or anyone elses. just averys.
the same key that was found by colburn/lenk days after the other authorities had already searched the trailer. not to mention it was underneath shoes and the story was that the keys "fell" from the book shelf thing.

Wouldnt be surprised if this is half of the boards opinion.

This was insane.
Did he have a Dexter crime scene setup? Stabbings, throat slashing, strangling after that, gun shot (which no one heard), etc. There should have been a MASSIVE amount of blood everywhere. Spray, puddles, bodily fluid, DNA from sweat on bondage stuff, on bed, mattress, walls, carpet (which is impossible to clean completely) etc.
I think he could be guilty, but we need answers not made up bullshite from a retarded kid without a parent present.
Why didn't they emphasize the bus driver story in Brendan's trial and appeal? She completely blew up his event timeline. Like destroyed it without a doubt.
He said he heard screaming and went into the trailer to find her while the bus driver said she was alive and well taking photos outside when she dropped Brendan off.
ETA:
Its obvious this didn't occur in the trailer like Brendan said so he clearly wasn't there when it happened.

i'm not saying avery is innocent. he could have killed her and did all those things. but the prosecution did a TERRIBLE job linking him to evidence.

Why didn't the investigators talk about the floors and areas being scrubbed? They didn't even say the room was scrubbed. In fact they wanted the evidence to show the murder and blood took place in the garage.
How do you rape, assault, and slit a throat and have no evidence of that happening in the bedroom. Only the coerced testimony of a teenager?

What really upset me was the quote "Innocent people don't confess" or something to that effect.
Never mind the numerous studies done on coerced confessions and their reliability (or lack thereof).
Everyone has a breaking point and everyone has their version of hell. Physically weak but intelligent people might hold up very well to questioning, until you physically threaten them or actually carry out physical violence on them. Brendan was incredibly slow. Perhaps his version of hell was being peppered in interrogation by persons much more intelligent than he was. In that moment maybe he wanted to say anything to get it to stop.

I think bobby dassey and steve tadyach killed that girl when she left the property, put her in the back of her own car, stuffed her remains into the burn barrels at night of the 31st, wiped the key, left it in averys trailer for him to touch it/pick it up, and hid the rav4 on his property.
their alibi's don't match with the very accurate time line of the bus driver, as far as bobby's story goes. and bobby's alibi is corroborated by steve which was proven to be not true according to the bus driver.
the problem even with this theory is steve avery's blood is found in the vehicle. also found was a vial of his blood that was tampered with from the 1985 case.
so there's a possibility that coburn sees the vehicle and before he calls it in, he goes and gets the blood vial that he has access to and plants blood evidence in the vehicle.

Did OJ kill his wife? He's admitted as much. But did the State prove he was guilty? Hell no.
oh bullshite - the state proved the case beyond any shred of doubt.
OJ was acquitted because he was black - not because there was anything wrong with the evidence.
The only thing wrong with the prosecution was that they presented too much evidence of guilt.

The bias was discussed and most everyone admits that the documentary was biased towards the defense. However, there was plenty of testimony and evidence that the investigation was tainted, the evidence was tainted. The testimony was coerced and even fed to the boy.
This is from a guy that usually sides with the prosecution. I think most suspect Avery to be guilty. However, the sheriff's, :DA, and others did a very poor job in leaving NO DOUBT that Avery was guilty. If it was him the other agency didn't need the Manitowoc sheriffs so heavily involved even after they recused themselves from the investigation. They royally screwed up by not only being on scene, but just so happen to find some of the vital evidence after the scene had been looked over several times before.
Is Avery guilty? Very possible, but based on doubt, there was plenty of doubt to stop me from voting guilty. Don't forget the man was tried in news pressers over and over leading up to the trial. Every juror was tainted. Even one of the jurors said 7 nit guilty' before he had to be dismissed.
I put myself in the defendant's shoes and would hope I would get treated more fairly than that. Too much shady actions on the prosecutions side for my taste.

Some very good points and two which would have access to the weapon they say was used to shoot the victim. Definitely something that would cause me pause to think about.
