I was about to mention that place. Clicks still open? And would you actually want to set foot in there?

Dave & Busters is a lot bigger and more visible than a Fox & Hound. I've not been to a Main Event before, but most D&B's are big and visible from the freeway. That Fox & Hound was kind of shitty and you could't really see it in the back corner of that old mall.

I'm honestly not sure where a D&B's could fit in that area unless Albertsons decided to shut down.

Or they bought out half of the Valley Park ghetto.

Fox and Hound closing down is still a mystery to me. They were there well over 10 years and seemed to always be busy.

and my point was that if Fox & Hound could not be supported in the city, very near to a College Campus. What makes you think a much larger Dave & Busters or Main Event would be supported?

I'm shocked that there's anything open on the side by Sullivan's. Weirdest layout for a shopping center I've seen.

Well that's a great question. You would think we have the population to support one of these places. I mean, how does Baton Rouge sustain a Texas de Brazil and Sullivan's? Both are large national chains.

They scrapped this location because they really want to put it in North Baton Rouge.

Seriously though, I hate it for kids in our area. Seems like there is less and less stuff to do each year in Baton Rouge for kids. Unless it's drugs, we have an all you can eat buffet of that shite.

What's the root cause of all this shite? Is it something to do with the flood and maybe flood insurance? Is it something with that new piece of shite mayor we have? I don't understand how a business can sink money into a location to demolish buildings, then just pull out at the last second with no ROI and just losing money. Seems strange to me.

I think they've shut down all of their Louisiana locations over the past few years. Not a huge loss IMO.

Are there actually any new large national businesses coming to BR?
nothing to write home about...i agree all you hear about are the ones tucking tail and leaving, but i can't say i blame them.we have all the taxes of a huge city without anything to show for it.

Between the flood, Alton Sterling riot, ambush killings of the police, St. George controversy and the new administration stirring things up I can see why they wouldn't want to build here. It's been a tough year for BTR.

It seems to me it has to do more about property dispute.

Is this place similar to a dave and busters?

Ehhh. When I moved back to BR in 2004, it was the place where I would go and watch games. But then, all these similar places started opening up. I mean, this was before Towne Center, Perkins Rowe and the new part of the mall were open, before the Bulldog, when there was one Walk-On's, one Pluckers, one Buffalo Wild Wings and one Chimes. And I'm not even talking about the stuff that got built in Livingston and Ascension. I think all those restaurants siphoned business away. Plus Fox and Hound had mediocre food. And it was always a mess finding a table - they didn't have hostesses, so you just walked all over the place to find a seat. It was a drag for a big event.
In short, they didn't keep up with the times and got outstripped by new competition.

Good point. I think they actually tore it down too.

I think so. Seems like they gravitate towards similar locations to move theaters: Big boxes with lots of parking and visibility.

Food was ok at Fox and Hound. Their Black Forest ham sandwich in a pretzel bun was great.
