Don't have major surgery before the exam.

I just studied the questions, tbh. Bar exams are pretty easy. You'll be fine.

Memorize the old test answers, especially for the second and third day test sections because they have a ton of repeat questions.

From what I've heard it seems like they have been trying to make it easier (I took it last year and felt it was a lot easier than previous years)

Old test are key. I think the bar is a little easier now after the debacle a few years back.

I had a professor recently tell me that LSU law should reduce it's admissions standard for faculty to allow Kermit the hiring of more minorities.

I graded a section for many years. My failures just didn't know it. I tried to look past writing style and spelling for actual substance. I was also alert to applicants who just could not apply law to facts.

Study. Review old tests. Write answers down; not in your head, on paper or on a screen. Take a walk in sunshine every day. Eat right and get enough sleep. You will do fine.

Yeah. But he is almost seventy. Doubt he'd want to take it on.

Make sure you have a beer and unwind after monday of the exam.

Friday is a joke so as long as you can stay sharp through lunch on Wednesday you're home free.

I also did nothing but outline test answers from around now till the exam.

Appreciate it. I think I'm going to shift my focus almost squarely on the old exams from the next 2 weeks and only look at the outlines for things that I keep missing when issue spotting the exams.

Studying old exams is important. When I took it some of the questions were very similar to old questions with a few new facts and twists. Others were exact old questions.

At this point you should be studying old questions and writing and reading old answers for sure

Make your answers easy to read. Graders are human. The grader being able to easily read the answer and understand it is much better than an answer that is so hard to read and all over the place that they give up and place it in the wtf pile.

I'll repeat myself again and again redundantly and say the same thing.

Practice actually writing the answers down.

I always sound brilliant in my own head. It's when I write down what I'm thinking or say it out loud that I realize how rough it is. The examiner reads what is on the paper, not what you have in your mind. Practice the writing.

How 'bout Tom Galligan? He is absolutely expert on Louisiana tort law, which he has followed for decades. He has deep ties in the legal community, and he comes back to New Orleans every year for the year-end CLE.

Tom is savvy. I think Randy respects him (though not entirely sure about that, and though their styles are VERY different). My guess is he could handle any discrimination/sexism/diversity/power play issues with aplomb. And I am pretty sure he stayed tight with Fast Frank, so he could very well have some pull behind him. He's also be able to attract sponsorship and endowment dollars from the high-roller plaintiff's bar. And after BP, there is some big money to be had there.

I have no idea if he would do it. He's got a pretty sweet gig. (He does have one kid left in high school, I think.)

Just a thought. But I'd absolutely take a trip back to Galligan's Island.
