Sorry for the grim title...

Her and her boyfriend...

quote:

Megan Rogers, 19

quote:

Megan had just come home for summer vacation from LSU Baton Rouge, where she recently completed her freshman year, according to her father. Her major was kinesiology.

quote:

Megan loved being a part of her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, he said, and was always found outdoors.

quote:

In a statement, police said the pair’s Chevrolet truck was headed eastbound on Robinson Place when it struck a large tree on the north side of the street and was quickly engulfed in flames. Cpl. Marcus Hines, spokesman for the Shreveport Police Department, said preliminary attempts at identifying the bodies were difficult because of how badly they were burned. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.

Eta: Last edit of the title... you can't please everyone.

Hopefully they were dead or unconscious before that.

Sad.

Burning to death seems like the worst way to go imo. Sad stuff.

Saw some friends posting about this yesterday. I did some stalking and the girl and her boyfirend were doing active, innocent college Facebook shite like May 2 and now they're dead on May 14.

Life is frickin wild, man.

For real, so much ahead of them to be taken so quickly.

I hope these kind of threads aren't taboo, but the LSU connection I thought warranted a thread.

terrible and sad story for that girl and her dad

when me and aubrey got nailed by a drunk head-on several years back, my biggest fear after the crash was getting us the frick out of my suv that was laying on its side, in case it caught fire....that, and hoping there were no kids in the vehicle that hit me.

One can only hope that they passed due to impact.

Might want to put her full name in the OP too (I know it's in the link but some people might not want to click to find out.)

Sad. Prayers to her family and friends.

What's confusing is that Robinson place is a neighborhood street with a likely speed limit of no more than 30mph. Seems like a 1 in a million tree shot to cause the car to catch fire.

Robinson is a residential street, speed limit probably 30/35, was there weather at time of crash?

Yup, I actually drove down that street last weekend. Weird place for that to happen.
