Any negative effects if we wiped this miserable species off the face of the earth?

Sucks having to get my car washed once a week.

They are actually man-made.. I think..

Yes. The larvae eat decaying matter in the ground when they are born.

When I was young my grandparents told me that when you see lovebugs it means they have a storm in the gulf. Over the years I've paid attention to that and a lot of times it's true.
