May not be a change in road quality as drastic as what you experience crossing from Texas into Louisiana on I-20.

Georgia drivers are just bad. Always hogging the left lane while going slow.

I kind of laugh when someone uses broad enough brush strokes to lable an entire state as bad drivers. Im sure there are bad drivers everywhere

You must have never been within 2 hours of atlanta (which is a large portion of the state). GA drivers are fricking awful.

Left lanes on Georgia interstates within a 50 mile radius of Atlanta are not treated as passing lanes.

Everyone is used to driving in traffic all day, every day so you just sit in any lane and go forward. Some people let it carry over into driving situations where they need to move over.

Worse than Texas' drive 55 mph in the left lane drivers? Also, rural Western Pennsylvania has the worst roads.

Lived in Wisconsin, California, North Carolina, and now Louisiana. Also, have driven across country 5 different times. With that being said New Orleans and Baton Rouge have the worst drivers I have ever seen.

A few years ago I was driving through Atlanta northbound on the interstate during the mid afternoon traffic . For some reason there was a very slight gap in the traffic and it was just myself and a 1970's model Buick Electra Coupe in front of me in this particular section of road, but there were cars in front of and behind us by a few hundred yards. We passed an exit, and suddenly the Buick made a U turn in the middle of the interstate and went back and took the exit. There was a dividing wall so all this happened completely in the northbound lanes of the highway.
I still can't believe there wasn't a huge wreck as the result of that guys actions. It was insane.

Georgia also has Drug Recognition Experts that can arrest you while 100% sober and not under the influence of any drug. Its just because they say so.

I mean, I know I have to apparently dodge bullets when driving through New Orleans (based on recent news), but I just haven't felt as unsafe on Louisiana roads as I have on Georgia roads.

Guess its just the amount of people on the road in GA compared to LA?

I mean there is around 5 million in the state of Louisiana while there is close to 7 million in the metro Atlanta area alone.

Grew up learning to Drive in GA so guess I was just used to it.

2 hours away from Atlanta is pretty much still inside Atlanta with the traffic.

My wife and I have come up with a running joke since moving to Atlanta. Whenever we see someone do something like this, and it happens often, one of us yells out "wildcard!".

Oh no that can't be. I have been all over and have never seen worse drivers than the ones in Louisiana, except Naples Italy and Houston Texas on their toll road.

1-10 from Mobile to Texas is far worse than anything I experience in Georgia, even the trucks just hang in the left lane.

I-26 in SC is pretty bad as well
