Not an exhaustive list.. just off the top of my head...

2005 - Katrina
2005 - Rita
2008 - Gustav
2010 - Macondo (BP Spill)
2012 - Isaac flooding
2015 - Lafayette Theater Shooting
2015 - NW LA Red River Flooding
2016 - March - Northshore record flooding
2016 - March - Monroe record Flooding
2016 - BR Police Shootings
2016 - Amite (BR) and other river record flooding

We always remember the most recent events and there are probably many more that I am not recalling. However, these were and will likely be all-time historical events - at least at a regional level.

Good one! I was obviously thinking on the negative side only.

Grand Bayou/ Pierre Part sinkhole. Lots of folks lives were changed and there is-was a threat to a wider area.

I would probably add the sinkhole to that list. On the positive side, a natty and a super bowl.

Plus, you could always add the daily, continual washing away of our shoreline.

Living in LA is fun but it's not easy.

I guess the record flooding on the Sabine this year affecting many in SWLA doesn't count?

Luckily only been affected by two floods. The May 8 flood in 1995 when I turned 21. I had to sleep on the 1 10 or swim home. My mom told me to stay put so I did. My brother worked for the Kenner police department, so he was able to get home and help her. Had a few inches of water in Metairie. We had to evacuate from Mandeville/Slidell in 05 for Katrina. Grandmaw lost everything had 4 feet of water in Slidell. We just had minor roof damage in Mandeville.

I think we are having more issues due to the lack of wetlands on the coast. Just my $.02.

I missed that one. It was caused by the same system that dumped ridiculous rain into the Red/Sabine system.

Add the spillway events to all these, and I guess I should have just said most of the state has had a major flooding event in the past 11 years.
