It's a schedule IV with 2 refills.

An older person left the doctor, showed up at the pharmacy and couldn't find the paper anywhere. Went back to the doctor and they told her they couldn't rewrite it.

What's the policy on this? Do they not have a carbon type copy of the prescription they could give her?

I don't see them making her go the 3 months without her meds she has been on for decades. She has a good report with this doctor and been going to them for ages.

I told her to file a police report so they can put notice to pharmacist that it was lost so no one else can get it filled.

just call the doc that issued it and have his office reissue or call it in

That's bull. There should be absolutely no issue with re-writing it.

Heck, I lost a percocet prescription... well, my wife washed it, to be precise, a year or so ago... there was no issue with getting it re-written, but they did check the TN PDMD or whatever it's called to make sure it wasn't filled.

They should easily be able to write a new one, especially since I think prescriptions are now tracked in all states.

Too much to risk for a pharmacist to allow some junky to mess up their business.

That's what I would think but she said she went up there late yesterday and they were no help saying their policy was to not issue any more prescriptions. She asked them what if she made a new appointment and they told her she could do that but they won't be able to write that same thing.

I told her it was late and they were about to close and maybe why they weren't any help and she should go up there for lunch and ask to speak to higher ups.

I feel sorry for her. She is all disheveled.

I know that. This is schedule4. low mg xanax

I told her to go get a police report and that may show the doctor she isn't full of shite. I don't know what else to tell her.

Did she check her purse/car? There must be a way; as older people forget and misplace things. It will be all of us someday. :(

But Schedule IVs can be, so that's not the issue.

MD office doesn't believe she lost it. Her records may indicate drug seeking behaviors in the past and they don't want to mess with taking a chance.

I mean she has been going to this same doctor and using the same pharmacy getting the same exact meds for nearly 20 years with no hitches.

I'm thinking when she went back in yesterday she just talked to the young girls at the front desk just minutes before they were closing and they told her "nope can't do anything, your bad"

oops, skimmed over too quick, somethin's fishy here, either the doc's office has to suspect something or the old hag is lying, it's easy to get a script reissued if you are on the up and up, and sometimes even not

I wish I had a dollar for every time someone has used that excuse. Funny how it's ALWAYS for a controlled Rx and never for antibiotics.
