I'm experiencing lots of back problems and may have to consider surgery. Has anyone here had any experiences either positive or negative that they are willing to share? Considering the Baton Rouge and New Orleans area. Thanks in advance.

Would you consider acupuncture? Mine was a jab well done.

Acupuncture is something I'd consider. I'm just hearing horror stories and would like to hear a response that someone had a good experience from a local doctor.

I'd go with a white or Asian surgeon personally, but I've got subconscious racism going on.

Isaza was my guy and I highly recommend him. I never elected to have surgery, though. 5 years since I've seen anyone for my back or taken any pain scrips. Eat right, exercise and anti-inflammatory supplements can bring most people back from the brink of surgery.

What's wrong with your back?

Isaza or Scrantz would be holding the knife if I needed spine surgery

Kelly Skrantz did my back years ago. I am so grateful for the job he did that if he wanted I would open mouth kiss him.

Isaza runs a close 2nd. Big gap to number 3

If you truly need back surgery find a neurosurgeon to do the work.

What kind of problems do you have?

You might have a muscle that's all twisted up and you can get relief from a medical masseuse.

Try other things first.

Was scheduled for spinal surgery.
First time, they had their schedule messed up. Had to come back another day.
2nd try, i read the description you have to sign, they had wrong surgery in sheet.

Complained to staff. Md said, oh your md always dies surgeries for that. Let me prescribe physical therapy. Might work. There is this great team in another county two counties south. Go there. Md and pt people. They eliminated symptoms over two years of two or three times a week. The md did some of the hands on.

Currently wife started accupuncturist. Been recommended big surgery. We'll see.

Not Dr. Isaza. He told me I had too much tension when I drive my car. My real diagnosis was a Cervical Nerve Root Compression. He is an idiot!!!

Second the motion to see a neurosurgeon, depending on specific issue.

Orthopedic surgeons do some rudimentary procedures. Several people I know that went to see an orthopedic surgeon for a neck/back procedure have secondary internal scarring/side effects.

Went to see a neurosurgeon for same issue, different procedure to resolve issue, and 100% better within hours.

Its such and important issue. Research as much as possible.

Have you had an MRI yet? How can you consider having back surgery if you haven't even seen a doctor yet?
