Growing up my parents always had friends who would just pop in to chat... They would put a pot of coffee on and just talk about stuff and fellowship. It was mostly Cajun folk. Doesn't seem like that really happens much anymore in this fast paced world.

Can't even make a pot of coffee when a boil order is issued. Thanks Mitch.

Why not text them? They were just mooching coffee off your parents.

Facebook allows people to pry into other people's business without having to work the grapevine. It also has a chat feature.

Sounds great minus the people coming over to bother me.

Will your wife allow you to have friends over while the family is all at home?

I haven't kept up, sorry, but how'd your home make out during Harvey? I know you had to evacuate but didn't hear anything else.

Also, my in-laws are in their 70's and they have friends over all the time and they're always drinking coffee and chatting. It's kinda nice.

My friend and I do this every morning at work. We both get here early so we make a pot of coffee and get caught up before the work day starts.
