Perhaps not the behavior her employer wants her to demonstrate either while at work or away.
Whether or not we choose to agree with her beliefs, she is not displaying a great example to those that look up to her.

Actually, when you work for a public entity, you don't have near as many rights when it comes to political things and can absolutely be fired for not following guidelines. Not sure if public schools are the same as other state/federal agencies, but you're not allowed to have campaign bumper stickers on your car. There are many others things you aren't allowed to do as well, just giving an example.
