It's definitely gotten worse. Another one of the many problems no one talks about in this shithole state.

The dirtiest state I've ever seen. Routinely see trash throwing out trash from the car window.

I like to pick up trash along the road to make the country side look better. I do it willingly and feel good about it.

The poorest and most uneducated state in the country, what do you expect? The lack of trash on the roadside is shocking when you go anywhere else.

Louisiana has the highest population of litter makers compared to the rest of the country. South Louisiana is the highest concentration of liter makers in the country.

ETA: and don't get me wrong, I love living in LP, but to drive around parts of the parish is absolutely embarrassing. It's no wonder that it has the reputation that it does

The litter really is bad in Louisiana.
I never noticed it until I moved out of state and came back. Its noticeably worse than other Southern states I've lived in. Its really gross and looks terrible. When I see people litter out of their car it makes me want to run them off the fricking road. How fricking hard is it to throw your crap away next time you get gas or go home?

It's not just LA, it's endemic to the rural south. Get off a main highway in East Texas, and it's the same thing as LA. We had to pull 80 acres out of a large land acquisition in Angelina County because dumping was so bad. Cost estimates were around $100k to clean it up.

Everyday sitting at redlights in BR I see people toss their cigarette butts in the street.

Also crazy to go to other cities and people bring bags with them to pick up their dog shite. Have never seen that here.
