We test drove many luxury, mid size SUV's and decided on this Lexus. Actually, we thought the Acura MDX rode a little better, but we like the features and look of the RX 350. The Audi Q5 was very rough (like our Pilot).

Those are really sleek looking. Saw one very similar to yours behind me coming back from lunch. Very nice ride.

My wife had one of the generation just prior to the new one they're selling now. We traded it in for a GX460 so we could fit the dog cage in the back on road trips. The 350 was good to us. Very comfortable, never needed any maintenance, held its value like a fricking CHAMP.

May be time for a set of glasses

ETA: I think I may finally have some serial downvoters.

They really don't look much alike, Here they are from the side:

From the back:

From the front:

So basically they don't look similar at all

Come on, side-by-side you can't see it. Oh well, maybe it's just me.

I'm sure it's a nice car, but I just can't get past the styling...particularly the grill, directional wheels on some models, floating roof, and the more squared off wheel wells borrowed from the Toyota Highlander.

I know the inside is downright awesome though.

We test drove this one, really liked it, loved the 20" rims. We go talk numbers and the salesman says he forgot to mention the rims and tires are not stock, it comes with 18" silver rims. They wanted nearly $4000 for these rims.

I (nicely) accuse them of bait and switch and told them we are heading to Audi (next door).

We come back a couple hours later, and they apologize about that and knock a ton off the rims/tires. There was one right next to it with the factory rims, it just didn't look the same.

We recently went through pretty much the same line of cars. I thought the Lexus was nice, but the Audi was much more fun to drive.

In the end, they were both really far behind on innovation, so we got the Tahoe. You just get so much more car, nice V8 performance, and the imports didn't come close on innovation.

Yeah, you cant' unsee sharp rims.

It goes from a "kinda want" to a "gotta have".

Yea, those wheels really set it off nicely. The prices some manufacturers are charging for upgraded wheels is insane. And it has to be almost all straight profit for them. I'd have told them for $4k you better get the original wheels that came on the vehicle as well.

GM charges $3k to upgrade from the 20in standard rims on the Suburbans, Denalis, etc. That's just an absurd premium to charge, but apparently a lot of people pay it.

That turbo on the Audi was fun, but we are old, I want smooth ride. This has the same horsepower as the Audi, just the Audi has the get-up speed with the turbo.

Wut? I'm assuming you got an LTZ since you're talking about getting so much more "innovation." That means you likely paid close to $60k for it. That is way more than the RX or Q5 cost.

I told them I want the credit for the original wheels because it was still part of the price.
