That's not a conversation I'm prepared to have.

Been dealing with it since my early 20's. Lactaid pills are the bomb and work great. At least for me. I agree, it sucks.

My son has this.

After a few instances of him eating cheese pizza and ice cream, which promptly sent him to the restroom for 45 minutes of misery, we finally figured it out.

Yes, Lactaid is the bomb, for the rare occasion when he is going to consume dairy products.

I take daily pills for it.

Keeps it in check, and I drink Lactaid milk w/ cereal.

Presented with Crohn's disease last year and have been lactose intolerant ever since. You never realize how many products have milk in them until you can't have them.

Only thing I really miss is yogurt

Lactaid pills

This worked for me for awhile, but I found it only delayed the situation.

If his progresses, look into the daily pills. They are OTC and I think they help tremendously.

It is hard to avoid diary all the time.

I was lactose intolerant from 4th grade until I was 23 or 24. I took lactaid everyday and it would work about 30% of the time. One day I was in Walgreens about to buy lactaid and there was a product called Digestive Advantage: Lactose intolerance. At the time it was made by Ganaden now I think it is made by Schiff. I took two pills the first day and put it to the test at work I drank a milkshake, a glass of vitamin D milk and ate s piece of cheese cake and it worked like a charm. After that I took one pill a day for about three years and one day it quit working so I quit taking it all together and for whatever reason I'm no longer lactose intolerant. Try it out. One pill a day is way better than a lactaid or two with every meal.

developed am intolerance within the past few years. sucks.

always hated milk -- so that isn't an issue

had to switch to almond milk or soy in my coffee (only use a dash anyway- wasn't the biggest deal)

can't eat ice cream or anything. sucks, but i guess that is better for me in the long run!
