If you took all the money in the USA and divided it exactly evenly to all citizens and families and said have it, it would look almost exactly like today in 100 years in regards to elite and poor classes, ghettos and high-market condos, slum schools and elite academies with the students they have now. True or False?

I give it 5, maybe 10 years. There are no limits to how quickly a stupid can waste his/her money.

True and it wouldn't take 100 years. It may vary who the top earners are, but the distribution would be the same. A Vanderbilt or Carnegie great grandchild type may be replaced by others, but the result will be the same.

Wouldn't take 100 years - more like 40.

Here's one - I could take $10 million to any housing project or trailer park - at random and hand $1 million, each, to 10 random adults.

In less than 1 year, 9 of 10 of them will be in the same situation (or worse, perhaps, because of a particular addiction the $1 million affords them the opportunity to indulge, they might be deep in the throes of substance abuse when the money runs out.)

Now, not just random millionaires, but if I give $1 million to 10 random business owners/entrepeneurs - in 1 year, there will probably be 8 to 10 new jobs and dozens of people will have benefited to a significant degree, some permanently.

I took it to mean within 100 years.

3 to 4 generations? Of course that's true. It wouldn't take that long.

Professional sports is a good case study.

can you imagine the immediate and horrifying spike in violent crime with so much more liquidity available in these previously impoverished areas?

Anyone have some rough numbers on this? Like what 1 citizen will receive?

You would see the negative effects immediately. People who don't care for their jobs would quit; I mean, why would they be motivated to work if wealth was just evenly divided. There would be a massive void in the workforce.

How would business ownership work? Who would run the businesses currently operating? Who would choose these people? How would one's situation be different, other than either having more or less cash in your pocket than before? Would I still have my current job/home? Would the bum still have a criminal record and be homeless?

There is an estimated $9.5914 trillion in the Unites States when including all cash, liquid, metals, and funds. This does not include personal assets and homes which skews this answer.

There are 318,000,000 people.

This is about $31,000 per person.
