Let's talk drinking age

It's been awhile now since the drinking age has changed from 18 to 21.
From what ya'll have seen - has it really resulted in a decrease in drinking in college age kids? Has it decreased drinking problems or drunk driving?
For what I can see it doesn't seem to be much different between kids today than when I was that age years ago.
Maybe some local governments get a little supplemental income from MIP charges but other than that I'm curious what if anything has changed.

It should be 18 or 19.

I honestly wouldn't care if they up'd it to 25.
Let veterans drink.

I think 25 is best . Most people who kill or drink and drive are under 24 .

I always said it should 18 until around the age of 23 and I realized just how stupid some of shite I did because of alcohol from 16-21/22 years of age.

If teenagers want to drink, they will find a way. I know that I did. Also, I agree with what another poster stated. If you are old enough to join the military, go to war, and risk your life for your country, you should be allowed to have a drink.

I think maybe one of the things that it has done is drive the drinking of kids this age more inside - ie: gathering together at someone's house or something like that. And less out at clubs, bars, etc. So maybe from that point of view it has had some effect.

The world was much better when there were less laws. If you can be drafted or serve the country, then there's absolutely no reason you can't buy a beer over the counter.
The laws are being created in front of our eyes to make up for the stupid actions by others. An 18 year old can get an 8 ball of cocaine, ounce of pot, or several tabs within an hour if they want it. Deterring an adult the right to purchase alcohol is idiotic, IMO.
I was 18 for 3 weeks before the law changed in 1996 and was grandfathered in, fwiw.

There was no grandfather clause in LA when the law changed was there?
