Not typically with ovarian pathology...go mostly off of sonographic features, which will typically provide a pretty reliable clinical impression. Very important not to create intraperitoneal spillage, so typically incisional biopsies or imaging guided biopsies are not performed on ovarian lesions.

This. Highly unlikely they would do any type percutaneous biopsy, they would just remove the ovary surgically. Best case scenario is that it's a simple cyst but this is unlikely since she's likely had imaging that shows it as a solid mass and not fluid filled. Second best case scenario is that is just a benign mass.
