One obvious solution staring the state in the face with undeniable stats from other states that have done so. It wouldn't completely resolve the matter, but it would sure as shite make up a huge chunk of the deficit.

But LA won't do that of course.

Legalizing Marijuana has not only brough needed revenue in but it has also led to a drastic decrease in crime including a significant decrease in the number of murders in Colorado. Think about the secondary impacts that legalization will have on the budget for the better.

We had people in yesterday's thread claiming violent crime would increase

Obviously, they've never gotten high. Give a thug a dab, and the only thing they are attacking is a bag of Doritos and a bed.

Some people are still stuck in a reefer madness mindset.

Their rationale was that most of the "hood's" revenue stream is from selling weed (LOL) so those people will turn to robbery and home invasions in nice areas. It was very lol worthy.

I didn't agree with 480 and his thoughts personally.

Not for long..I just got off work, and stopped at my neighborhood dispensary on the way home. A couple dabs of this purple people eater wax, and I'll take over that title.

It's an interesting scenario. Though I figured most of the thugs in Nola were making most of their money from coke, crack and heroin. Though schwag bud is very profitable if you buy 5 pound bricks. Though I've seen more kind bud in the hood than usual over the last few years.

Colorado has definitely benefited economically from being the first state to legalize.

WA legalized the same day. They just screwed the pooch by taking so long to open the stores. But weed was still legal.

Comparing this to education and gambling is probably a good one.

The reason why education never improved is because sure the money from gambling was "earmarked" for education, but our shite politicians just moved money currently being given to education elsewhere. This is the same thing they would do if pot was legalized.

Also, just like everything else with our great state, if you legalized it you would probably have to subsidize a large percentage of our entitlement class populations use of it as well.

All this being said it is absurd it's not legal.

I don't know. You've got some competition. I've been off all day with an eighth of Granddaddy Purple, a gram of Blue Dream shatter, and some THC drops in my soda.

Legalize marijuana

Support.

But it would only make a nice dent in the budget hole and not enough to cover it.

Colorado made over a billion dollars from marijuana sales.

Because they're the only state in a thousand miles in almost every direction that has legal weed. The more states that legalize, the more that number will go down.

I mean if Texas were to legalize it today, it would be really booming and frick over the rest of the south pretty hard as it would be the only southern state with legal weed for at least a few years and rake in billions.

That won't happen because it still has a powerful lobby for private prisons, big pharma and alcohol and tons of politicians who really believe the stupid DARE bullshite.

unfortunately i found out that it takes about 100 mg of THC in edibles to get me where I want to be. So about 10x the recommended beginner dose.
