Do you buy them down dere or do you stock up cheer in the Big Raggedy and then bring them down chair wit yous?

IE-Would you say grocery prices are more or less expensive down there? We plan on cooking in the condo at least a few nights (We'll be there for 6 days).

TIA, I'll hang up and listen.

Bring you're beer... Has less alcohol over there. The rest is a wash, unless you're a penny pincher looking to save $10 at most on a vacation.

ETA if your looking to cook an expensive tenderloin or steaks, you may want to get that where you normally shop, or if it's on sale.

We normally have to restock once or twice on brews but I bring a blender and the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Margarita Machine with us and that and our booze armada usually lasts us.

My main concern is groceries. I'm not the penny-pinching type but I also didn't know if the Wal-Marks and Publix's on the Coast were marked up. Haven't really paid attention the past few trips and before that when I was single I just threw $50 or $100 down on groceries for the week and enjoyed the pull out bed in whatever condo I was in.

Buy your liquor in Louisiana or Mississippi. Grocery prices will be higher at the stores along the beach road. I would stock up in Malbis. There is a Sam's right off the interstate.

The Winn Dixie out there has similar prices to the ones in LA for most things. Publix is a little more expensive, but is worth it for meats and fresh stuff.

Walmart is Walmart, no really differences except on beach specific things (sun tun lotion, etc). Get that kind of stuff before you go, and you'll be fine.

we always buy our groceries once we get there. Unpack everything then go straight to walmarks and get groceries and bring back so we are done! Hit the beach, drink it up... then hit the night life.

Not if you drink good beer. And in that case, they have a lot of stuff there we don't get here in Louisiana.

Publix grocery is priced about equivalent to Rouses, which is higher than say and Albertson's here. There is also a Winn Dixie and the old Walmart, if you're that desperate to save a dollar.

Orange beach is very trashy this time of year. You should go to Miami...

I always buy my beer before I leave, then stop in MS for Yeungling.

I shop at Publix down there unless I'm having a lot of people with me then I plan out meals and shop at Costco before I leave and ask someone else to bring the food cooler

Publix has great fried chicken, if you're into that sort of thing.

You'll probably need a day or two of groceries to get you through Slidell if they shut down one lane like they did a couple of weeks ago.
