Any body gave a recommendation for a lawyer to pursue wrongful termination claim due to retaliation? Do these lawyers work on contingency? Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you can be fired without reason in Louisiana. Unless you have a contract, then you might have a case.

I think I speak for all of us when I say, we're going to need to hear the back story first.

Louisiana is a "Right to Work" state which means it will be next to impossible to win

If they think your case is strong enough they probably will.

Yep, I have.

Yes they sometimes will, but oft times won't. It (amazingly) depends on the lawyer, his/her firm and the strength and particulars of the case.

In Louisiana, not likely.

Please do not mention it.

Worked for large company for nine years. Superior reviews for eight years--not one negative remark. Filed a grievance against employer (not my boss) last year for a hostile work environment. Since that time, my workload has significantly increased--more than anyone else on my team. Management changed my job description, of which I never signed or applied for this new job. Received my first letter of concern two months ago, and a sub-par review this month. Then terminated.

Were they sexually harassing you or just picking on you because you're gay?

So, you're asking for an attorney recommendation in Baton Rouge for a company in New Jersey?

Depends on what type of retaliation. You won't have a chance if it was some workplace BS. It's a differerent story if you reported or threatened to report a violation of a law by the company or another employee. Or fired for filing a worker's comp claim. There's a few other scenarios where you could have a claim.

*edited: Ignore my post. Thought this was Louisiana. No idea about NJ.

You ever thought that maybe they were just not that into you?

You might have been marginal and your superior just let it go.

Unless you're a protected class or had an employment contract, it's going to be difficult to obtain damages.

Good luck, I'd move on, if you are as good as you intimate at your former job, you should be able to find work somewhere else, even if it requires relocation.

You don't, by any chance, bring the TPS Reports up to the engineers?
