I've made my own and my own beer. There used to be some archaic laws about how you can MAKE the alcohol, but you cannot DISTILL it. Kind of dumb b/c it all depended on the chemical process of what you were making.
What I have read there is very little methanol in it, and you just get rid of the first little bit and you are fine. I have seen some homemade still so yes you can but I don't think I trust myself just yet.

I think the guy on the video threw away the first little bit that came out. That's right, he threw away the first little bit and the last bit. He said he kept the middle stuff. It was some Russian dude, so I dont know how he judged the amount of "dirty" to be poured out
