Lawn equipment sitting all winter

I know next to nothing about lawn equipment. Had a kid last fall and been in the weeds with that no pun intended.
Small engine shop for servicing? I left some gas in the mower and weed eater, want to get someone to revitalize for the spring / summer

I have gone a month or more without cranking up my mower during the winter and it still works fine.

might have to drop the carb bowls and spray the carb jets down good if you had E10 fuel in there

I used ethanol like a genius. Should I empty old gas first? I'm guessing so, and the reason I didn't try to crank yet

Trying to start them isn't gonna hurt anything. The damage has already been done by the gas sitting in the carburetor all winter. Try to run them, it may run a little rough. If it starts up, add some fresh fuel and a bit of sea foam and don't look back.

If it is a rider or rzt that is non fuel injected check the fuel soleniod which is at the bottom of the bowl. The soleniod sits at the bottom of the bowl and raises when key is turned off and lowers when the key is turned on. Usually fuel gums up around it.
Push probably just clean the carb.

It's not the end of the world if you used ethanol. Try to crank it. If it doesnt start or if it keeps choking out, then you may need to drain the gas and clean the carb. It's not as hard as it sounds. Just youtube it, there's plenty of walk-through videos.

you can keep gas for well over a year with something like StarTron.

Mine usually sit all winter. they cranked right up last weekend when I went to use them. If its cheap equipment you get what you pay for. All my stuff is 5-10 years old and sitting never seems to hurt it.

You may want to also pull the sparkplug(s) and pass a light sandpaper on them.

Don't try the old gas, drain it. If it is stopped up, the fuel runs through the bolt that holds the carb bowl on. That is where it will be stopped up.
Pull the bolt, then hit the three holes with a stiff wire or safety pin. Spray carb cleaner through them and replace. Put new gas, with Seafoam, and you will be good to go.

My Honda push mower I use to cut between the lemon trees sat outside for the entire winter. Didn't drain the gas... Cranked first pull. Cranks first pull every time... ethanol gas and all. It's amazing... F'n Honda can built some engines man.
