In the Metairie area and looking for somewhere I can run on my lunch hour to fit and purchase a suit for a funeral service tomorrow. Not looking for some designer, top of the line suit...looking to spend a few hundred dollars. Where do you OT Ballers on a Budget recommend?

are you basically buying off the rack? I can't imagine they wouldd be able to do any serious tailoring in a day.

Jos A Bank
Men's Warehouse are you best bets to find something basic off teh rack on short notice.
Could also try Macy's or DIllard's

Yea he can try those places. They're also a tailor on Vets that does same day alterations not to far from there. I forgot the name but the people at Dillard's could tell you

The answer is stienmart.

All their suits are sold jacket and pants seperatley so you can try them on till they fit and walk out with a great cheap well fitting suit.

Shite man, just go to Kohl's if it's that last minute and you don't have time or money for a quality tailored suit.

Do you not already own a suit, at least a dark colored suit?

I'm almost walking distance form Jeff's, and have seen it numerous times...but always assumed that place was higher end suits. Do they carry lower end stuff as well?

Also, spinoff question. Are black suits still a must at funerals or have traditions gotten away from this?

Kohl's had some really good sales on decent suits recently. I think I spent around $100 on a Chaps suit that was regularly $300+. I also bought a lot of sport coats. I'm pretty sure they're still having the sale

I have no idea what they sell.

Just know it's in Metairie and it's not inside the mall which takes a lot of time to get in and out of.

Try the wearhouse too. Again, not in the mall.

Well I guess this boy is about to come a man.

I don't own a suit, I do own a black sports coat which is in serious need of dry cleaning. Unfortunately I live close to BR and work in Metairie area so running home to drop it off at the cleaners is not an option.

Is there is a Kohl's in Metairie/NOLA? Quick Google search shows none.

No Kohl's in Metairie.

Katrina fixed those plans. They went to the northshore instead.

If you don't own a suit. Buy a grey one.

Dude go to Steinmart.

You can get a suit that fits you perfectly for under $250

Go to a department store and buy the "suit separates."

Remember these things:
Not too much of a "break" in the pants
Choose the jacket length so the sleeves show a little cuff

I am a 42R, and most "off the rack" jackets fit me pretty good with minimal tailoring. A lot of people probably wouldn't even notice if I didn't have a jacket tailored.
