Where's a good place to stay in Los Angeles in April? What should I check out and do? I'll be there for a week. The water temp is around 60 that time of year but I still want to go swimming in the ocean.

PS I think it's time we got a travel board

What are you there for?

West Hollywood is the most fascinating and fun and koreatown had a lot of great stuff going on to.

Even in summer time the CA waters are very cold even down to San Diego
Will need a wet suit
Kayaking is always pretty fun to do out there

Santa Monica pier is a must see just to have that been there done that
Find the Hollywood sign there is a pretty good view, you can get there thru this neighborhood and most people will assist you and not get too annoyed
Walk down Rodeo and that area, all the exclusive shops you need appointments for
Went to the Mann Chinese Theater area and that is mostly touristy

LA is a lot of driving though and you never know what traffic will be like, that's why I like San Diego better because there are more sites to see and cool things within reasonable driving distance, you can drive all over LA and not feel like you've done anything and it's not easy to get around not knowing your directions

No and Yes. Dodger stadium is a gem. Do some touristy things (Pier, Venice, observatory, hollywood) mixed with some more adventurous things like dining in Koreatown, Hiking up Runyon canyon etc. Go to institutions like Musso and Frank, Amoeba records, one of the old theaters, the Troubadour. Plenty of shopping as well on Melrose/Bev Hills/Rose Bowl Flea market etc. Silverlake and Los Feliz have some interesting shops, venues and food. If you are into art + design, check out the Gamble house in Pasadena, the Getty and LACMA ...

Going to listen to music, what's the deal with magic mountain? I saw someone a few days ago say it was worth checking out?
Ideally I'd like to go to a few spots and post up there each day, don't really want to drive much and would rather uber my way around if I could. Any breweries or drinking related places that I should be on the look out for?

If you can afford to, don't stay in Burbank as fighting the traffic in and out of Hollywood will add a lot of unnecessary time to your journey. Even if it's too cold to swim, definitely head down to Santa Monica for an afternoon. Just a real cool chill place.

Spend about a week in Venice Beach. See some nice breasts. Give L.A. props. Floss hoes at Roscoes. Sip Crisco with some freaks from Frisco. Smoke some nice sess. Pay a visit to the Versace store.

Its really not that bad once you are in it, especially if you are doing something active. The first minute or two kinda sucks though.

Stay somewhere in or around Santa Monica. It's expensive, but any decent hotel in L.A. costs. Spend day at the beach and the the Third Street Promenade … then do some cool, non-touristy stuff. Hike around Griffith Park. Drive from Hancock Park to Beverly Hills. Maybe go to the Getty Museum.

spend about 10 minutes on the promenade if you need a clean restroom.... You can go to H&M or insert other chain store somewhere else. One if not the best design bookstores in the country is near the promenade though H+I
