LA Teacher arrested for choking student

Curtis Tsuruda, 59, of LaPlace, was arrested and charged with cruelty to juveniles stemming from the incident, which occurred on Feb. 16.
St. John Deputies report Tsuruda grabbed the boy after an argument. After the student broke free, according to the release, he reported the attack to school officials.
The arrest is not the first run-in with the law for Tsuruda, who has also worked for LSU, Tulane and Donaldsonville High School.
At Donaldsonville in 2015, Tsuruda pleaded guilty to one count of distributing steroids after a student claimed he was duped into taking them. Tsuruda, who served as a powerlifting coach, had three additional counts of distribution dropped as part of a plea agreement.
RA is gonna take it hard for this one. What were they thinking?!? Hiring a teacher who had previously administered drugs to children?

We had a teacher choke a student down in 6th grade, but everyone agreed it was deserved and called it even. The teacher was later fired for trying to run over the student with his car after school. He missed, and tore up someone's fence and mailbox with his old school T-Bird instead.

I thought that guy sounded familiar and sure enough he used to be on the LSU S&C staff. Hopefully the statute of limitations has run out.
