Eat clean and exercise. The only one who's judging you is yourself.

I have 2/3 and you already know some besides this girl, whether undiagnosed or the people don't trumpet it to everyone.

That's a pretty broad net you're throwing.

My wife has severe anxiety, and it's usually over very irrational things. She started taking low dosages of an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety medication and it has helped tremendously.

To answer your OP, yes, those things can definitely manifest themselves in physical ailments, even if they're 100% mental. If a person feels sick, then they're sick, even if there's nothing to be diagnosed.

Not only possible but is the case more times than not. The two work in harmony.

Yep. Stress can frick a person up. Over time. More often it's crap. Anxiety will cause a slew of symptoms. None of them are legit. But you THINK you're gonna die.

Yes I do.

To the second part, I fully believe that you can create sickness within yourself or atleast make yourself more likely to become sick. In the same sense I believe that being mentally stronger can help fight off or prevent sickness. Not 100% of the time obviously but for simple things like colds and such, I always feel like once you accept that your sick and lay in bed you begin to feel worse.

Yes, I had pretty bad anxiety/depression. It made my stomach issues 10x worse than they really were. Once I started taking an antidepressant for a few weeks, the stomach issues almost disappeared.

My doctor said depression/emotions and pain originate from the same area of the brain during PET scans, some people perceive it as constant physical pain while some are emotional. They're still trying to figure out the mechanisms behind it, or at least that's what he told me. Anyway, they're finding that by treating people with chronic pain with an antidepressant, they require much less pain medicine.

Yes.

I always thought depression was bullshite.

When I got divorced I had a serious bout of depression. I had days where I literally couldn't function. Days where I struggled to get out of bed. Days where I sat at my desk all day and realized I had not done anything. It was brutal for a month or two.

It's very possible. Especially prolonged it can lead to a number of physical issues.

This is the worst place to talk about this stuff though because most are hard asses around here.

I wouldn't wish severe anxiety/ocd/agoraphobia on a worst enemy.. On anyone.

I'm actually encouraged by the lack of hard arse responses I was anticipating. It's easy for someone to just say get over it, but until you truly go through it you really can't comprehend just how bad it is.. And even then no situation and how one responds to it is ever the same.

Same.

I was always a positive person. I grew up not believing depression was real. I thought people with it were just not trying and if they would just be positive they would be fine..

As I've gotten older and experienced certain things I have come to find out just how wrong I was for ever judging depression. It's really awful. It's like there is no hope and there is absolutely no end in your mind for it. It's torture.. And if you have anxiety with it.. It's even more constant physical torture.

I've come to learn that people that struggle with this are often some of the most sympathetic, kind, and compassionate people around..

I began having severe anxiety issues about a year ago. It was completely debilitating. I always felt sick, couldn't sleep and couldn't eat. It has subsided since, but the feeling is always there.
