Know any drinks that don't prescribe particularly harsh hangovers?

I'm hearing vodka and soda is one, which makes sense considering the sugar content in a V&S will be pretty low.

Your thoughts?

Drinking a lot of water in addition to alcohol is the best thing.

Generally the more expensive liquor is the less of a hangover you get.

Gin & Tonic has been a lot better to me than beer.

Of course, I don't pound like I used to either which is probably most of it.

Prescribe? Not sure this is the correct word here. Can anyone confirm my suspicion? Or teach me a new meaning to the word?

These are both true. Dehydration is the main cause of a hangover, but so are impurities which more expensive liquors either distill or filter out. I don't buy into the sugar content theory. Alcohol itself is a sugar. If sugar content were a major contributing factor, people would get hangovers from eating too much candy or ice cream.

Just drink 1 water for every alcoholic drink you ingest. No hangover.
