Mindy scores exactly 100 on this dartboard. How many darts did she throw and where did they land?

Dartboard has 16,17,24,39,40 as possible scores.

Please help. Clearly I am an idiot.

Edit: has to be 5 darts

17 4 Times 16 twice.

68 + 32 = 100. 6 darts

17 x 4 = 68
16 x 2 = 32

68 + 32 = 100

Find 5 numbers that add to 100.

Impossible with 5 darts. Is your kid telling you it has to be 5 darts? Something is missing.

You could hit a double 16, a triple 17, and a single 17 (or two double 17s), for 3 darts.

Teacher apparently told them to see if they could do it in 5. I guess she technically never said it was possible.

I just ran it through the new GOES 16 supercomputer, and it is impossible.

We're missing something. Why does the original question ask how many darts did she throw then you say it has to be five darts???
