How many of you do this? I left LA in 2005 but still have my 225 cell number from LA(that I've had since 2001). Hate to change my number but I've considered it recently due to getting wrong calls (some guy with serious credit troubles has a law firm bugging me daily now cause they think I'm this Joseph guy). My husband thinks it's odd I don't just get an AZ cell number after all this time. Anyone else like me and just don't want to give up a number they have had for several years?

I kept my Cali number when I lived in Boston. Even if I had stayed out there would not have changed it. We bought my parents a new phone and put them on our plan. They live in BR and have an 818 number.

I have no interest in getting a new number. I haven't been in the 225 for about 7 years, but I still rock the phon enumber.

I think most people keep them when they move. Only reason I changed mine was because work issued me a phone and pays for it.

It doesn't matter anymore. Free long distance and all.

I've had my 713 cell number in Denver for 8 years. Nobody changes anymore. What's the point? Plans are national these days.

I've had the same number since 2002. Haven't changed it since.

I say you're fine. I suggest calling the law firm preemptively and alleging harassment and ask them if they need for you to file a 'cease and desist'

I just wanted to know I wasn't alone in this

That was the only cell phone number I've had(yes got my first cell in 2001).

I have had a 318 number but haven't lived there permanently since 2004 when I went to LSU. I live in Houston now and area codes are required for everything since there are like 4 just for the city so its not a big deal.

I'd block the number of that debt collector.

I've called them 3 times already to tell them I'm not Joseph and could they please stop with the harassing phone calls. Each time I'm told "sorry" and that my number will be removed. Guess I'll try your idea next.

I've had the same phone number for 15 years and don't plan to change it. I moved out of state for 2.5 years and kept it.

What is filing for a cease and desist? I've never heard of such a court filing.
