It is crazy when you look at the difference between Ranch and Springs. They are like 3 miles apart.

Ranch

African American: 350-10.75 %
Hispanic: 791-24.29 %
White: 1,746-53.62 %
Asian: 270-8.29 %

Economically Disadvantaged: 462-14.19 %

Springs

African American: 864-31.82 %
Hispanic: 1,383-50.94 %
White: 268-9.87 %
Asian: 119-4.38 %

Economically Disadvantaged: 1,863-68.62 %

Its a video of a news station report on the brawl, and they say Katy. It is geographically in Katy.

Probably worse for Cy Lakes, where this fight happened.

School officials released a statement saying "They were extremely disappointed...."

Their opinions mean nothing to the participants. It is akin to teaching a dog to bark, then letting him know, in print, how disappointed you are when he barks.

When we ended up in Houston right after Katrina, we rented a house for a few months about a few blocks from where this school is now located (it wasn't built yet). The mailing address is Katy (which is probably where the thread title came from) but it's in Cy-Fair ISD and it's unincorporated Harris County.

At the time our neighborhood was zoned to Cy-Springs which was just up the road but apparently it was re-zoned when Cy Lakes opened.

I only lived in that neighborhood for a few months before we bought a house south of I-10 but (and this was 10 years ago) it seemed like good people. A lot of construction workers, but good people.
