Good to see kids engaged in that pride and having fun.

This for sure. I no longer have any affiliation with my high school since they moved after Katrina. I wish I could still go back to football games and have some school pride. SFP is over thinking this big time.

Ill bet your family was hooting and hollering when you graduated law school.

I remember when I graduated med school the 5 black kids in my class families went nuts when the names were called

I think it has more to do with it being a milestone in life where you go from dependent teen to independent adult.

People need to celebrate education more IMO.

i get it, but you have 2 groups

1. those who are moving onto higher education
2. those who are done with education

group 1 has more graduations that matter a lot more ahead of them

group 2 are celebrating the termination of their education...at high school

For a New Orleans public school, Karr isn't that bad. I would never send my kid there but fights aren't an everyday occurrence over there.

I believe that would be the Vice Principal.

That's pretty awesome. I wish my high school showed that kind of togetherness.

i mean i get that my mindset is not normal, but i never got why people flipped out over high school graduation

For starters it really feels like these kids enjoy their classmates and this'll be the last time they'll see most of them.

I heard that they kicked a family out because that family held their applause until the names of all the graduates had been read.
