something happens to render them insignificant.

Just lost a friend to pneumonia. I don't think she was 40 yet. I'm heartbroken over this.

A few years back, a friend I had lost touch with succumbed to pneumonia. Hadn't even reached 30 yet. Never heard about it until several weeks after the funeral.

How do people die of pneumonia at such a young age? Especially with all the doctors we have now.

With pneumonia you don't take care of it , it gets to a certain stage and you're screwed

That's what I was wondering too. I've probably had pneumonia 4 times in my life, twice when I was under 5 or 6. I don't remember my mom saying that it was a big deal.

Some ignore it, thinking they just have a really bad cough that won't go away. I see it all the time at my clinic, well not the death part. But I see quite a few hospitalizations because of it.
